Ayam Zaman, meaning “the olden days”, is a music piece that was originally composed in the 50’s by the renowned oud player, Jamil Bashir, from Mosul (Iraq). The title wonderfully suits the music. Indeed, whenever I listen to its captivating melody, I cannot help but reminisce those tender and sweet moments of the past.
With all due respect to Jamil Bashir, I allowed myself to create a different version of Ayam Zaman, by including instruments that don’t usually converse: the classical Guitar, the Indian Sitar and the Middle-Eastern Oud.
More tracks will come very soon... stay tuned!
