The Story

Aalaat is a quartet of musicians consisting of Ahmed Ghawas (Bahrain) on the Bouzouki, Omar Quraishi (Pakistan) on the Tabla, Mike Zachariades (Greece) on the Bass, and Ibantuta (France) on Oud/Guitar/Setar/Sitar. Together, they offer original compositions drawing inspiration from the musical traditions of each member.

They performed in Bahrain between 2014 and 2016 at numerous festivals and cultural venues such as Malja, The Nest, Bab al Bahrain, Bahrain Noor Al Ain and Bahrain National Museum.
